"Nothing is more practical than finding God, that is, than falling in love in a quite absolute, final way. What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination will affect everything. It will decide what will get you out of bed in the mornings, what you will do with your evenings, how you spend your weekends, what you read, who you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you with joy and gratitude. Fall in love, stay in love, and it will decide everything."
--Pedro Arrupe, S.J.
Spiritual Direction
Spiritual direction is for those who understand their lives as a spiritual journey. The role of the spiritual director is to accompany you on your journey and, through holy listening and spiritual friendship, help you to hear and follow the Divine direction for your life.
What can you expect from Spiritual Direction?
A deeper and richer personal spirituality.
A greater sensitivity to and awareness of the presence of the Holy in your life.
A clearer sense of what you are being called to do and be.
A sense of the spiritual practices that best help you be responsive to that calling, such as journal writing, prayer and meditation.
An experience of the value of contemplative prayer as both a spiritual practice and health enhancement.
A greater energy and vitality for your work.
A greater sense of purpose and direction in your life.
Sessions for spiritual guidance generally take place monthly, face-to-face, and last about an
hour. Sessions may be held on the telephone or by email as well, to
accommodate long-distance clients. Recommended fee is $60 per session, but none are turned away due to inability to pay.
"Seldom does a spiritual director have a set fee such as psychotherapists do,
and you would probably never be refused for nonpayment.
Nevertheless, I recommend a minimum donation of $35.00 per session.
If this is more than you can afford, give what you can-even if it is
a batch of cookies or a handwritten thank you note. You will feel
better for giving something in return for this service, and your
director will appreciate it, too."

"I
feel comfortable in Mimi's presence and in sharing intimate aspects of
my spiritual life with her. I appreciate her warm hospitality,
listening skills, wise contributions to subjects that surface, and
ability to be fully present in our time together."
