About Mimi

I am a certified coach, with many years of training and experience in coaching and spiritual direction. I have a passion for helping you discover who you really are and how to use your gifts in a way that is both life-giving for you and enriching for others.

I love this work because I've been in that stuck place myself and know how discouraging and frustrating it can be. I also know how wonderful it feels to finally be free of what's been holding me back.

Nothing brings me more joy than helping others get unstuck and find their true path. I would love to support you on your journey toward a life of freedom and peace.

Recent clients have included artists, attorneys, business executives, couples, development professionals,  entrepreneurs,  homemakers,  ministers, physicians, retirees, social workers, students, therapists and writers.

Spiritual Guidance - I have completed a two-year program of spiritual guidance, and have practiced this "gentle art" of listening and spiritual companionship since 1998. I also participate in a monthly spiritual direction supervisory peer group and serve on the faculty for the RUAH School of Spiritual Guidance.

Dream Work - Certified as a Dream Group Facilitator, I have studied dreams for over 20 years, participating in workshops and conferences around the country, including the Haden Institute's Summer Dream Conference. I lead retreats and classes on dreams and have facilitated several dream groups.

In addition to the training received in Life Coaching, Spiritual Direction, and Dream Work, I have also completed a one-year training program in Healing Prayer.

Retreat Facilitation - I have led numerous retreats for personal and spiritual growth and have taught classes in these areas for over thirty years.

I also enjoy attending retreats to deepen my understanding of myself and others. Favorite experiences have included:

  • a pilgrimage to England and Wales with author Esther De Waal and the Institute for Servant Leadership to study Benedictine spirituality
  • a pilgrimage focused on the labyrinth at Chartres with Lauren Artress and Alan Jones
  • a retreat on the sacred feminine at the Sophia Institute with Sue Monk Kidd, China Galland, and Carolyn Rivers
  • a week of silence at Nada Hermitage in Crestone, Colorado

  • eight 10-day silent meditation retreats

I have made an extensive study of the Enneagram, participating in workshops led by Helen Palmer, Tom Condon, and Ginger Lapid-Bogda and have facilitated Enneagram retreats and classes as well. To discover your Enneagram Type, click here.

I have also attended workshops with Marshall Rosenberg and Robert Gonzales, including a 7-day intensive training, to learn Nonviolent Communication (NVC), and have facilitated practice groups and workshops to integrate the concept. I use NVC extensively in my coaching practice and enjoying sharing this valuable teaching.

I also serve as a meditation/mindfulness coach for a concierge medical practice and Chrysalis Institute.

A graduate of Hollins University with a B.A. in Social Sciences, I have a deep love of learning and have accrued many continuing education hours in coaching, mindfulness, business practices and personal development.

What's It Like To Work With Me?

It's all about you. Your choices, your agenda... you set the tone for how we will work together. We can meet by phone or in person, depending on what works best for you. Regardless of how we meet, I promise to provide a safe space for you to share what's on your heart.

You can count on me to...

  • listen deeply, without judging, to help you hear what's most important to you

  • serve as an accountability partner for you as you align your life with your deepest values

  • help you design and take the necessary actions to get you where you want to go

One of the most rewarding things about working with my clients is the number of "aha" moments I get to witness. Several years ago, Mutual of Omaha filmed one of my "aha" moments as part of their ad campaign. Although it never made it to television (probably a little too weird), maybe it will give you a taste of who I am... and who I think YOU are.
