About Mimi

I am a certified spiritual director and coach, with many years of training and experience walking alongside others in their spiritual lives and life transitions. I have a passion for helping you discover who you really are and how to use your gifts in a way that is both life-giving for you and enriching for others.

I love this work because I've been in that stuck place myself — you can read more of my story here — and know how disorienting, and how holy, it can be.

Nothing brings me more joy than walking with others toward a life of freedom, peace, and deeper connection to who they really are.

Credentials

Spiritual Guidance - I have completed a two-year program of spiritual guidance, and have practiced this "gentle art" of listening and spiritual companionship since 1998. I also participated in a monthly spiritual direction supervisory peer group for 25+ years and served for four years on the faculty of the RUAH School of Spiritual Guidance.

Coaching - Certified as a Life Coach, with well over 4,000 hours of coaching experience, I also receive regular training to improve my coaching skills. Recent clients have included artists, attorneys, business executives, clergy, coaches, couples, development professionals, entrepreneurs, homemakers, physicians, retirees, social workers, students, therapists and writers.

In addition to the training received in Spiritual Direction and Coaching, I have also completed a one-year training program in Healing Prayer.

Dream Work (past training and practice) - Certified as a Dream Group Facilitator, I studied dreams for over 20 years, participating in workshops and conferences around the country, including the Haden Institute's Summer Dream Conference.

Retreat Facilitation (past experience) - I led numerous retreats for personal and spiritual growth and taught classes in these areas for over thirty years.

I also enjoy attending retreats to deepen my understanding of myself and others. Favorite experiences have included:

  • a pilgrimage to England and Wales with author Esther De Waal and the Institute for Servant Leadership to study Benedictine spirituality

  • a pilgrimage focused on the labyrinth at Chartres with Lauren Artress and Alan Jones

  • a retreat on the sacred feminine at the Sophia Institute with Sue Monk Kidd, China Galland, and Carolyn Rivers

  • a week of silence at Nada Hermitage in Crestone, Colorado

  • a week of mission work in rural Haiti

  • eight 10-day silent meditation retreats in the Vipassana tradition

I have made an extensive study of the Enneagram, participating in workshops led by Russ Hudson, Helen Palmer, Tom Condon, and Ginger Lapid-Bogda and have facilitated many Enneagram retreats as well. To discover your Enneagram Type, click here.

I have also attended workshops with Marshall Rosenberg and Robert Gonzales, including a 7-day intensive training, to learn Nonviolent Communication (NVC), and have facilitated practice groups and workshops to integrate the concept. I use NVC extensively in my coaching practice and enjoying sharing this valuable teaching. In 2021-22, I participated in NVC Rising’s Global Year-long Program as well as The Resonance Summit with Sarah Peyton and An Introduction to NVC Mediation with Yoram Mosenzon.

A longtime meditator, I also served as a meditation/mindfulness coach for a concierge medical practice and The Innerwork Center.

A graduate of Hollins University with a B.A. in Social Sciences, I have a deep love of learning and have accrued many continuing education hours in coaching, mindfulness, business practices and personal development.

What's It Like To Work With Me?

It's all about you. Your choices, your agenda... you set the tone for how we will work together. We can meet by Zoom or phone, depending on what works best for you. Regardless of how we meet, I promise to provide a safe space for you to share what's on your heart.

You can count on me to...

  • listen deeply, without judging, to help you hear what's most important to you

  • hold space for your process, rather than rushing toward answers

  • help you take the next faithful step — whether that’s a small shift in awareness or a concrete plan of action

One of the most rewarding things about working with my clients is the number of "aha" moments I get to witness. Several years ago, Mutual of Omaha filmed one of my "aha" moments as part of their ad campaign. Although it never made it to television (probably a little too weird), maybe it will give you a taste of who I am... and who I think YOU are.
