Making Room for Joy

Find the thing that stirs your heart and make room for it. Life is about the development of self to the point of unbridled joy.

We downsized to our condo nearly two years ago. Still, we're not settled. Not completely.

Because our house sold right away and we had to move almost immediately, we didn't have time to go through all our "stuff" and decide what to keep and what to give away. Consequently, we still have a lot of stuff that we don't really need or want.

Since Christmas I have been on a mission to organize and simplify. I've been reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Upwhich is really helping me make room in this smaller space we now inhabit. With each item I sort through I ask myself, "Does this bring me joy?" If not, out it goes.

I think the same question can be asked about the way we spend our time. Imagine what your life would be like if every moment brought you joy.

Unrealistic? Perhaps.

But by cultivating more awareness and choosing to do more of those things that bring you joy, who knows? Maybe "unbridled joy" is completely possible.

What stirs your heart? Are you making room for it?
